Thurles Sars & Nenagh Eire Óg into county hurling final

An early Cian Darcy goal set the tone for the day as Kilruane McDonaghs put it up to the county champions.

Sars regrouped and stormed back to lead 1-14 to 1-7 at half time.

Kilruane took the game to Sars in the second half with Seamus Hennessey to the fore but despite losing Michael Cahill to a second yellow late on Sars held on.

An Aiden McCormack goal with two minutes left was enough to see Sars safely through to another county final on a final score of 2-19 to 1-17.

After the game Tommy Maher of Sarsfields management team said it was pure hurling

In the second game Drom Inch and Nenagh finished Drom 2-12 to Nenagh’s 1-15 and in extra time Nenagh pulled away to win 1-20 to 2-16.

It was a titanic struggle and the game looked set to go to a replay but Nenagh won the day in the end.

Liam Heffernan said it was great to beat one of the favourites for the county in a tight game
