Tipperary’s Denis Lynch produced a solid opening round performance at the Games in Normandy, France yesterday, jumping a clear round with the 11 year-old stallion All Star 5 to leave him in 41st place out of 153 competitors.

The overall lead is held by fellow Irish rider Bertram Allen, who, at just 19 years of age, produced an incredible performance with the mare Molly Malone V to win the speed competition.

Ireland’s remaining team members Offaly’s Darragh Kenny and Mayo’s Cameron Hanley, also jumped clear rounds.
