South chairman wants action on late postponments

Michael Cooney made his comments as the division has had to nominate a representative to take part in this weekend's County U21 hurling championship semi-finals because their own competition hasn't been completed yet.

In a further twist to the story Carrick Swans are set to go straight through to the county decider as there won't be a team from the North in the last four.

The latter division are playing their semi-finals on Sunday and have decided not to nominate any of the remaining clubs to compete in the county competition.

Mr Cooney says it might be time for officials to adopt a more hardline approach to getting games played.
