Shane Long named in Ireland squad for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers

Tipperary’s Shane Long has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Manager Stephen Kenny named his 25-man selection for the qualifiers earlier this afternoon.

Long, has made 88 appearances for Ireland, scoring 17 goals.

The Gortnahoe man will be looking to add to that as Ireland are away to Portugal next Wednesday before home fixtures against Azerbaijan and Serbia.

Goalkeepers: Caoimhin Kelleher (Liverpool), Gavin Bazunu (Portsmouth, on loan from Manchester City), Mark Travers (AFC Bournemouth)
