Ryan considering different approach after Paralympics experience

Peter Ryan says the experience of going to the Paralympics has made him reconsider his approach to training and competing.

The cyclist, who's from Upperchurch, represented Ireland in two events at the Rio games – the time trial and road race.

Peter Ryan says he's hoping what he learned during the trip will help him succeed in the future.

Meanwhile, the Irish Paralympic team will return home today with 11 medals in tow.

Gold medal winners Jason Smyth, Michael McKillop, Eoghan Clifford and tandem duo Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal will be among the returning heroes when they touch-down at Dublin Airport at around mid-day.

The team's achievements in Rio far exceeded the pre-Games target of eight Paralympic medals.
