Rooney with regular first team doubts

It's reported that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has told Wayne Rooney he is not guaranteed first team football.

According to the Sun news paper Mourinho has told Rooney's advisors he's no longer an automatic starter.

Rooney is 31 and hasn't started in any of the previous 4 games.

It's not thought that the club are in a rush to sell Rooney but have informed him he may now only be a bit part player.

There are 5 games tonight in the League cup fourth round.

In the stand out game Liverpool welcome Tottenham to Anfield.

Unlike Tottenham, Liverpool aren't playing European football this season.

Manager Jurgen Klopp says it means they can go match to match in their approach.

In the nights other action Arsenal host Reading, Bristol City meet Hull, Leeds face Norwich and Newcastle take on Preston.
