John McGrath was Tipp's top scorer, registering 1-6.
The Premier also had a penalty saved – home netminder Ian O'Regan kept out John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer's effort in the 52nd.
Tipperary's next match is against Clare on Sunday March 5th.
