Paul Ryan has taken to twitter to confirm that he removed himself from the Dublin squad.
Ryan is not in the winter training panel for next season however he tweeted today “contrary to what's in the papers it was my decision to opt out of the 2017 panel.”
Ryan has wished his now former teammates “the best of luck for the year”.
Several experienced players were not named in the new squad by manager Ger Cunningham.
