O'Riordan – who also featured for the counties Under 21 hurlers this season – starred as Tipp reached the Under 21 All Ireland football final.
The 19 year old from JK Brackens said it is an opportunity he couldn't pass up.
He'll be joined at the trials by Kilkenny underage star Daragh Joyce.
