North Tipp Chairman apologises to Kilruane

The Chairman of the North Tipp board has apologised to Kilruane for the controversary surrounding the Under 21 hurling championship nomination. 

Toomevara had been nominated to represent the North in the County Championship…however, Killruane objected to this and it was decided that the North final would be played…with the winning team to play in the county semi final the following day. 

But it ended level between Toome and Kilruane last Saturday after extra time…on Sunday then, Toomevara played Carrick Swans and beat them by 11 points. 

The North side will now face Thurles Sarsfields in the County Under 21 A hurling final. 

A meeting of the North County Board was held last night….Chairman Dan Kennedy apologised to Kilruane and it was accepted to put the episode to rest. 

Speaking to Tipp FM after the meeting, Dan Kennedy said the issues have been resolved
