North London clubs reach Champions League knock-out stages

Arsenal completed a remarkable turn-around last night when they booked their place in the last-16 of the Champions League for the 16th consecutive season.

Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick to help the Gunners to a 3-0 win over Olympiakos in Athens, which was enough for Arsenal to pip the Greek side to the runners-up spot in Group F.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's players finally produced a performance as they eased some of the pressure on Jose Mourinho.

A 2-0 win over Porto at Stamford Bridge saw the Blues through to the knock-out stages as group winners.
