McDowell top of the Irish at Porsche European Open

Despite a late double-bogey yesterday, McDowell will resume from 3-under par in Germany, which is four shots behind joint leaders, Benjamin Hebert of France and Austria's Bernd Wiesberger.

Elsewhere, last night, Rory McIlroy made an impressive start to this week's Tour Championship in Atlanta where he's bidding to claim the end-of-season FedEx Cup.

The former world number one opened his account with a four-under par 66.

Sweden's Henrik Stenson is the out-right leader on 7-under.
