Maher delighted with panel response to loss of experience

All-Ireland winning Tipperary captain Brendan Maher says the side 'did well to stay competitive' following the retirements of a number of high-profile players.

The Premier County lost the services of stalwarts like James Woodlock, Conor O'Mahony, Shane McGrath and Lar Corbett late last year.

However, Tipp managed to forge ahead without them and won the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the first time in six years last Sunday.

Their skipper believes the championship-winning panel responded brilliantly to not having such experience to call upon.
