Leinster Council defend Walsh Cup

Provincial Chairman John Horan says the competition is invaluable for teams as they prepare for the league and outlines that the revenue  generated from  the games is used to address issues of hardship suffered by players, and by ordinary members of the GAA in Leinster.

Eddie Brennan who oversaw Kilkenny in the competition this season has called for an end to the tournament.

Offaly are through to the semi finals of the Walsh cup following their win against the Cats at Birr yesterday.
