Ireland’s Paralympians out in force in Rio today

The Clontarf swimmer goes in the heats of the 100-metre butterfly. 

Nicole Turner will be aiming for her 5th final appearance of the games when she goes in the heats of the 100 metre breaststroke at 1.55, Irish time.

Just after 2pm, Orla Barry competes in the F57 discus final, and Patrick O'Leary races in the canoeing 200 metres final.

At 3.45pm Paul Keogan is in the heats of the 400 metres.

At 4.20 cyclist Ciara Staunton races in the H2-4 Road Race.

Helen Kearney is in action in the equestrian Grade 1A Individual Championship at 4.45.

The solar sailing trio compete in Races 7 and 8 and 5.30 and 7pm respectively.

Declan Slevin cycles in the H3 road race at 6.20.

And then at 9.40 Niamh McCarthy is in the F41 Discus final.
