Ireland claim 3 points over Georgia

Ireland are joint-top of Group D after the first win of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

A strangely lacklustre Irish side laboured their way to a 1-0 win over Georgia last night at the Aviva Stadium.

Seamus Coleman's scrappy goal in the 56th minute helped Ireland to a narrow victory that leaves them level with Wales, Austria and Serbia on four points from their opening two matches.
