Thurles Sarsfields have been crowned County Senior Hurling Champions for 2017.

It’s their fourth title in a row, having overcome Borrisoleigh convincingly this afternoon in Semple Stadium.

At half time Borrisoleigh were 4 points behind Sars, despite being 7 points down earlier in the half.

However, the Sars charge in the second half proved to be too much for Borrisoleigh, who’ll have to wait another year to get their hands back on the Dan Breen Cup.

The game finished up 1-24 to 11 points

Sars march on to the Munster Championship, where they’ll play the Waterford champions in the quarter final stages later this month.

Meanwhile, Roscrea and Toomevara will have to do it all over again, following a thrilling second half in the Seamus O Riain Hurling Final.

It looked as though Toomevara were living up to their favourites tag, and ran in 1-7 to 4 points up at half time.

Roscrea rallied at half time, however, and fought back to finish level 1-12 a piece.

The game is to go to a replay
