Seamus Kennedy has been reflecting on Clonmel Commercials’ 21st county senior football title.

The Tipperary senior hurler captained his side to victory over JK Brackens in this year’s decider.

The 6-07 to 2-06 win saw Kennedy earn his 7th Tipperary senior football medal.

Speaking after the game, Seamus says the younger players on the panel stepping up has been very important.

“There’s a lot of us there since 2011/2012 that have been on the road a while but I think you can see today there is 4 or 5 lads that have won their first county medal today and I think that’s very important for us as a club.

“We trained on Wednesday and we had 37 at training, obviously there is only 20 that can play on any given day so the fact that those extra 17 lads still want to travel back from Cork, Limerick, Dublin to be part of this group, that speaks volumes I think for what Tommy has created here within the group.

“It’s really enjoyable and I suppose to get a bit of silverware makes it that bit extra special.”
