Criticism of decision to play the South football final

The decision to play the 2017 South Senior Football final yesterday has come in for strong criticism.

The game between Clonmel Commercials and Moyle Rovers ended in a draw with extra time also failing to separate the sides.

It finished 8 points apiece at the Clonmel Sportsfield – the game was 45 minutes late starting due to the heavy frost which covered much of the pitch.

Afterwards Commercials manager Charlie McGeever launched a stinging attack on the treatment of club players in Tipp.
