The senior footballers will kick-off their McGrath Cup campaign against a strong Cork side, but the Tipp manager says whatever the result it is very early in the season.
He also confirmed that Paddy Codd will stay on as the Tipp Senior Footballing captain.
The Killenaule man lifted the National League Division Four Cup last year for the county, meanwhile Robbie Kiely will retain the vice-captaincy.
The footballers will take on Cork on Sunday in Clonmel and that game will throw-in at 2 o'clock.
