Clonmel boxer decides to go pro

The 25-year-old Clonmel man is the reigning National Super Heavyweight champion and made the decision because he says the amateur scene had become a bit of a 'chore'.

In the last year or so, he said he realised the amateur circuit was no longer for him after he felt he had accomplished all he could.

Con says he is delighted with his decision and has the 'fire back' in his boxing and training.

He told TippFM Sport he is relishing the challenge of turning professional and while there is nothing signed, he has been talking to interested parties in America and England.

He just needs to decide who is going to sign with and where he is going to go. He added that all the other details, like his professional debut, will come after that.
