The Kiwi has brought hooker Rory Best and centre Gordon D'Arcy back in to the starting XV.
D'Arcy's return means that Robbie Henshaw moves to outside centre.
Best will partner Mike Ross and Jack McGrath up front.
Elsewhere, Jonathan Sexton and Conor Murray resume their partnership at half-back.
The back three is Rob Kearney, Tommy Bowe and Simon Zebo.
Rhys Ruddock, Peter O Mahony and Jamie Heaslip are in the back row.
Captain Paul O' Connell and Devin Toner are also in the starting side.
