Aspiring jockeys advised to prioritise education

Aspiring jockeys in Tipperary are being advised to complete their schooling before they turn professional.

Ken Whelan, who was a jumps rider for over 20 years, says it's good to have something to 'fall back on' if you don't succeed in what is a very competitive sport.

The Waterford native is currently a jockey’s agent working out of Cashel.

He has very clear advice for anybody wanting to follow in his footsteps.
