We had a huge reaction over the last number of days to the story of the sermon given during mass in Listowel last weekend. The priest who delivered the homily, Fr Seán Sheehy, has defended the controversial comments which he made during the sermon, at St Mary’s Church in Listowel saying he was preaching “the word of God” and all priests are “obligated” to do so.
