NAS reviewing ambulance services in Tipperary

A review is being carried out of the ambulance service in Tipperary

According to the Irish Examiner, the National Ambulance Service has confirmed it is reviewing the provision of rapid response vehicles in North Tipperary and in Co Clare.

The vehicles, staffed by advanced paramedic staff, were introduced in 2009 as part of the reconfiguration that saw the A&E departments at Nenagh and Ennis hospitals close at night.

It’s understood a meeting between ambulance paramedics and management has already taken place in Tipperary.

The HSE says no decisions on the future of the service will be made until the review is finished.
