First water bills to arrive today.

The first Irish Water bills are due to begin arriving through letterboxes from today.

The company has already warned that they are likely to contain errors and incorrect information.

They're urging those affected to contact them, and have hired more than 700 customer service staff to take calls on the company's helplines.

Customers have two weeks from the date their bill is issued to pay.

Meanwhile Sinn Fein will today publish their bill to scrap water charges.

The Water Services Repeal Bill has been drafted by the party but has already been ruled out of order by the Oireachtas Bills Office because it 'involves the appropriation of revenue'.

Sinn Fein has vowed to get rid of water charges if the party comes to power.

The bill will be published by TDs Pearse Doherty and Brian Stanley this morning.
