Dublin Zoo celebrates arrival of elephant calf

An elephant calf has been born to first time mum Anak. 

The baby boy weighs in at a whopping 70 kilos or 11 stone.

Another elephant calf was born at the zoo last month.

Director of Dublin Zoo is Leo Oosterweghel.

“It was born four days ago. It is in excellent health” he said.

“It was born to mother Amak. It was her first calf, and everything went extremely well” he added.
