Battle for places on Tipp team

Tipp supporters can look forward to seeing a fresh, re-energised Tipperary team to face Westmeath tomorrow evening.

The Leinster side travel to Semple stadium to face the Premier in the first round of the hurling qualifiers.

Following in the wake of the disappointing 1-26 to 2-27 defeat suffered at the hands of Cork in a Munster quarter-final five weeks ago, Tipp have given championship debuts to goalkeeper Daragh Mooney and defenders Tomás Hamill and Joe O’Dwyer.

Former Tipp hurling manager and Tipp FM analyst Ken Hogan says the starting 15 will be hoping to hold on to their jerseys for the rest of the championship.
