All-Ireland Winner Flor Coffey passes away

The Boherlahan native played Minor in 1937/1938 and Junior in 1939/1940, before first making it onto the Tipperary Senior Hurling panel in 1943.

Flor won two All-Ireland Senior Hurling medlas with the Premier County.

He was left corner-back on the team that defeated Kilkenny in the 1945 All-ireland Final, before lining out at centre-back for the 1949 success against Laois.

At club level, Flor won a County Senior Hurling medal with Boherlahan in 1941.

He later made a transfer to Thurles Sarsfields and was a part of their team that won the 1952 County Senior Hurling title.

Sean Nugent- the Tipperary County Board Chairman- has said that Flor was a revered figure in hurling circles from the late thirties to the late forties and his contribution to Tipperary's hurling success during that time will always be remembered.
