Warm tributes are being paid to Tipperary hurler Paddy Stapleton who has announced his retirement from the inter-county panel.
The Borrisoleigh clubman helped Tipp to the All Ireland title in 2010, and was part of the panel that regained the Liam McCarthy in September of this year.
In a statement, Stapleton thanked people for their support and said it will be a pleasure to give back as much as he can to his club Borrisoleigh in the coming years
County Board Chairman Michael Bourke said that “exemplified the spirit of Tipperary by his ferocious work-rate and ambition since he first came on the inter-county scene.”
He added that 'the Saint' “always delivered when it mattered most and through his passion on the fields of play led his line on every occasion.”
