Tipperary ladies footballers claim Division 3 National League title

The Tipperary ladies footballers have claimed the Division 3 League title.

Shane Roynane’s team went up against Wexford in Birr, and following a slow start the girls went in 5 points down at half time.

However, they rallied in the second half, clawing back Wexford’s lead, and holding them scoreless for almost 20 minutes of the second half.

Gillian O’ Brien, Maria Curley and Aishling Moloney all saw yellow cards in the closing stages of the second half to leave Tipp just 12 players for a time.

The game finished up on a scoreline of Tipperary 0-15 Wexford 1-10.

They can now continue their unbeaten run into the championship season.

Tipp captain Samantha Lambert spoke to Tipp FM’s Sarah O’ Dwyer following the win.
