Thurles Sarsfields were crowned Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling champions for 2017 after they overcame a strong Upperchurch Drombane challenge in the Ragg yesterday evening.
The Church started brightly going in 1-7 to 0-8 to the good at the break and led throughout until Sars got a grip on the game and took the lead with 10 mins to go.
The county champions held on to win by a single point on a 1-14 to 2-10 scoreline.
