Tipp managed to come out top despite having John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer sent off after 14 minutes

Manager Michael Ryan says his side showed their character when the chips were down

Michael Breen played a major part in Tipp's victory, scoring two goals in quick succession in the first half.

He says the team are made of the right stuff and they all worked together.

Meanwhile, Tipperary are out of the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship.

Limerick beat them 2-11 to 0-15 in the provincial semi-final to set up a meeting with Clare early next month.
