Kearns thrilled with top Tipp performance

Conor Sweeney led the way to an eight point victory for Tipperary against Meath in Semple Stadium last night.

The Premier got their Division Two campaign back on track, with the Ballyporeen clubman scoring 9 points – the final score of the game was 2-15 to 1-10.

Tipp succeeded in their first win since the opening night success in Cork, with Meath securing their second loss.

A blistering finish from Michael Quinlivan on the stroke of half time sent Tipp in 1-8 to 5 ahead.

Tipp withstood an early royal comeback in the second half and when Bill Maher neatly sent the ball to the net in the 48th minute, there was no way back for the Leinster team.
