It was a tight first half with Ballingarry leading by 0-11 to 0-8 at the break.
Ballingarry held that advantage and added to it in the second half to run out 0-18 to 0-14 winners.
They now progress to the next round of the championship.
In the South Tipperary senior football championship yesterday afternoon there was a double header in Clonmel.
Ardfinnan overcame favourites Moyle Rovers scoring the decisive goal and running out 1-10 to 0-8 winners.
In the second game Kilsheelan-Kilcash were too strong for Ballyporeen and three goals from Ross Larkin, Bill Maher and Brendan Martin were enough for Kilcash to claim victory.
Final score in that one was Kilsheelan Kilcash 3-16 Ballyporeen 0-6.
