Gibson Ready To End Ireland Exile

The 25 year old Everton midfielder fell out with the Italian in the aftermath of the disastrous Euro 2012 campaign, where he didn't feature in any of the three games.

Following Ireland's exit from the group stages of the tournament, the Derry native distanced himself from the Ireland set-up, feeling that he should have played some part.

However, with Trapattoni now gone in the wake of successive defeats to Sweden & Austria, Gibson has now reversed his decision;

“I've been thinking about this for a long time, but I did not want to disrespect the manager and say anything bad about him. I am ready (to come back) because Trapattoni is gone. If I'm called up, I'll come straight back in.”
