Tipperary will be changing their colours for this year’s Munster final

To commemorate the 100-year anniversary of Bloody Sunday, Tipp will wear a replica of the jersey worn on that day.

The jersey is green and white, with Tipperary written in gold across the front and it will also carry an image of Michael Hogan on the sleeve.

Chairperson of the Tipperary Bloody Sunday Commemoration Committee, Seamus McCarthy, outlined the plans behind the gesture.

“One of our first recommendations was that we would have the image of Michael Hogan on the Tipperary jersey and also the use of the original replica of the Bloody Sunday jersey for the use of the footballers.”

“This was supported by the executive of the Tipp County Board and subsequently announced by ourselves and the board in February. The great irony now is it will be worn 100 years later in this year’s Munster final.”
