Cork Gain Revenge on The Banner

They have beaten Clare by Clare 2-23 to 2-18 at Semple Stadium in Thurles this afternoon. 

Cork gained revenge for their All-Ireland final defeat to The Banner last September, with Patrick Horgan netting both Cork goals from placed balls. 

John Conlon and Darach Honan scored the Clare goals. 

Cork will now face Limerick in the Munster Final on July 13th. 

Down and Derry are into the Ulster Hurling semi finals. 

Down thrashed Donegal by 1-31 to 10 points in Clones this afternoon. 

And Derry beat Armagh by 4-16 to 3-13 at the Athletic Grounds. 

Monaghan are through to the Ulster Football semi finals, after beating Tyrone in the Championship for the first time since 1988. 

They kept their hopes of retaining their Ulster title alive with a tight 1-12 to 14 points win this afternoon in the Ulster Football Quarter Final in Clones. 

Dermot Malone netted the all important goal for Monaghan early in the second half. 

Monaghan will now face Armagh in the Ulster semi-final on the 28th of June, while Tyrone are into the Qualifiers, where they will face Louth. 

 

Meath will face Kildare in the Leinster Semi Final later this month. 

The Royal County thrashed Carlow by 7-13 to 6 points in their Leinster Quarter Final at Dr. Cullen Park this afternoon. 

Carlow now go into the qualifiers, where they will face Waterford in Round 1B.
