Tipp Ease past Dublin to seal Cork encounter

It finished Tipperary 2-23 Dublin 0-16 at Semple Stadium.

Tipperary were in control and always kept in front in the first half, in what was a surprisingly quiet affair which lacked any sort of intensity, given what was at stake.

While the home side enjoyed the lead for the majority of the half, they never really had to step it up, while Anthony Daly’s side appeared to show after-effects from their Leinster Final loss to Kilkenny.

Seamus Callanan, Lar Corbett and John O’ Dwyer were among the Premier County’s main scorers in the first half, with Tipp’s defence always fairly comfortable.

In the second-half Dublin enjoyed a brief period of dominance, but couldn’t make it count.

Dublin won a penalty, which was saved, before Conal Keaney rescued a point from the situation.

But Tipperary scored a crucial goal with about twenty minutes left, courtesy of John O’ Dwyer.

He then add another to seal a semi-final against Cork at Croke Park on the 17th of August.
