Tipp’s U21s lose out to Kerry

Tommy Toomey's men had commanded much of the game with the sides were level at half-time on a scoreline of 0-6 to 1-3… Tipperary's goal coming from Liam Casey in the 14th-minute.

With the sides deadlocked in the 50th minute Kerry moved three points clear and despite two late points from Tipperary, the Kingdom held out to take the victory by just a single point.

The final scoreline in Austin Stack park was Tipperary 1-7 Kerry 0-11.

Tipperary Manager Tommy Toomey was happy with elements of his side's performance but said there was a huge sense of disappointment in the dressing room after the final whistle.

Cork also came through their quarter final of the Munster Under 21 football championship last night…beating Clare by 15 points in Cooraclare.

Kerry will now meet Limerick in one semi final, while Cork will go up against Waterford in the other.
