At the World Equestrian Games in France yesterday a superb clear round from Tipperary’s Denis Lynch, almost gave Ireland one of the qualification places on offer for the Rio Olympic Games.
The team finished seventh overall just one place off Sweden, who booked the last ticket on offer to Rio 2016.
However Lynch with his horse All Star 5, have now moved up to 19th place overall in the standings.
He will be joined by fellow Irish riders Bertram Allen and Darragh Kenny who also finished in the top 30, in Saturday’s semi final of the Individual competition.
