A meeting between South Tipperary’s Oireachtas members and Uisce Eireann has been described as disappointing and unsatisfactory.
That meeting was also attended by the CEO of Uisce Eireann Niall Gleeson as well as its, national operations officer, its manager for Tipperary and Uisce Eireann’s head of communications.
The manager of Uisce Eireann’s treatment plants was also present.
However, according to Deputy Seamus Healy key Uisce Eireann representatives left the meeting early and only a fraction of the agenda was discussed.
The boil water notice on the Cordangan supply in West Tipp will not be lifted this month as originally thought.
That’s one of the developments that emerged from yesterday’s meeting.
Meanwhile Deputy Healy says the hard water on the Monroe water supply serving Clonmel is far above what is generally acceptable.
While the Clonmel TD who was critical at the level of information that came out at that meeting, he did say that there was a revelation in terms of the Monroe supply.
