The trial continues today of a Clonmel man accused of
viciously assaulting a female Garda.

24 year old Andrew Freaney, of 22 Bianconi Drive in the town,
denies the charge, stemming from a fracas at a Halloween
bonfire in 2008.

Garda Helena Power has been left with permanent damage
from the attack, which began as she tried to speak to the
defendents 14 year old brother who was highly intoxicated.

The trial enters its third day at Clonmel Circuit Court.
