Toddler is critical after being kicked by a horse in Thurles.

A 2 year old boy remains in a serious condition this afternoon
after being kicked by a horse in Thurles.

The incident happened at ten past seven last evening in the Rosemount
Estate in the town, just after 7,  yesterday evening.

The child, who was kicked in the head, was treated by ambulance
personnel at the scene before the Shannon based rescue helicopter
was called to the scene and brought him to the Mid West Regional Hospital in Limerick.

Gardai in Thurles are investigating the incident and are appealing
for any witnesses to contact them.
