Tipperary woman injured in Offaly crash.

A Tipperary woman is among 2 people seriously injured,
following a crash in Offaly this afternoon.

The two-car, head-on collision occured on the Birr to Athlone road at
around 9 o'clock this morning.

The woman is believed to be in her 20's and from Tipperary originally, but had been living in Offaly for some time.

Another woman, believed to be in her 50's and from Cork was also injured.

The road remains closed for a forensic examination but should be reopened later this evening.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
