Tipperary involved in major clamp down on speeding

A major nationwide Garda campaign is being rolled out today
to clamp down on speed.

The 24 hour “Operation Slow Down” started at 7 o'clock
this morning.

There will be a high Garda presence around the country as part
of the efforts to curb road deaths.

The initiative is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of
inappropriate and excessive speeding.

The Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan is asking motorists to be
more cautious:
