In 2011 more than €20'000 Euro in farm payments were recieved per farmer
in the County.

North Tipperary Chairman of the Irish Farmers Association Phillip Kinane, said the money recieved is the result of several farming schemes and that these payments are often farmers only source of income.

“It's a very very crude way of assessing the actual payment per farmer but the fact remains that Tipperary would contain a large number of highly productive farmers”.
