Tipp man jailed for killing a Dublin pedestrian while drink driving.

A retired nurse from Tipperary has been jailed for 2 years for killing
an 87-year-old man while drink driving in North Dublin.

65 year old Gerard Brett of Marrian Court, Marton Street,
Clonmel is
on dialysis because of chronic liver faiure.

Gerard Brett was swerving and driving erratically when his car
knocked Benedict Brady seven feet in the air.

The 87 year old was struck while crossing the road on a dark and
wet evening in Portrane.

The victim was taken to hospital but died 6 days later having never
regained consciousnesss.
