Thurles to stage its St Patricks Day parade today..

Fáilte Ireland says the tourist season is off to flying start – with hotels
and restaurants reporting what they say is their best St Patrick's
weekend for quite some time.

The clean-up operation is underway in cities across the country this
morning – after parades and other celebrations took place yesterday.

Some towns will also host their parades today.

The Thurles parade starts at 2.45pm and Gardai are warning that some
roads will be closed.

Fáilte Ireland says the St Patrick's Festival was at the tip of their
biggest March tourism push to date.

And Head of Communications Alex Connolly says the hotel sector in
particular has already seen benefits:
