The Templemore District will be divided up under plans by the Justice
Minister to amalgamate a number of Garda stations.

Independant Deputy Michael Lowry says that he has sought clarification
on plans for the Tipp district,
and has discovered that parts of Templemore will be merged with Nenagh
and Thurles.

Roscrea town will merge with Nenagh while Templemore will move to
Thurles.

Nenagh district will now cover Borris-In-Ossary to Birdhill and will take
in Rearcross, Borrisokane, Ballingarry, Lorrha and nearly as far as Shinrone.

Thurles will cover Killenaule, Ballingarry South, Templetuohy, Moyne,
Borrisoleigh, Latteragh, Upperchurch, Shevry, Drombane,
Holycross, Clonoulty and Ballytarsna.

Michael Lowry has described the move as a hammer blow to Templemore.
